Summarises the physical, emotional and psychological health consequences of poverty for children. Includes chapters on: maternal health; birthweight and perinatal health; mortality in infancy and physical health; mental health of children and young people; health related behaviour in childhood and adolescence; educational attainment and children's health.

This is one of two papers on child poverty and health written by Professor Nick Spencer, the University of Warwick, published by End Child Poverty with the support of GMB.
